Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between "Component" and "Full URL" modes? ▼
"Component" mode (equivalent to encodeURIComponent) is used to encode a part of a URL (such as query parameter values). "Full URL" mode (equivalent to encodeURI) encodes the entire URL, but leaves characters necessary for URL structure such as :// and ? as is.
What is the difference between URL encoding and Base64 encoding? ▼
URL encoding (percent encoding) converts characters that cannot be safely used in URLs to %XX format. Base64 converts binary data to ASCII characters. They have different purposes.
Is the input data sent to a server? ▼
No, all processing is completed on the browser. Input data is never sent to the outside.
